Shipping & Pick Up FAQ
I selected In-store Pick Up at checkout. Where and when do I pick up my order?
Pickup is available at our factory at the address and hours below. We'll send you an email notification when your order is ready for pick up, typically within 24 hours. This is a wonderful opportunity to peek through our factory windows (and get some cocoa aromatherapy)!

When will my order ship?
We ship Mondays-Wednesdays nationally, plus Thursdays for orders destined to Georgia. This limited shipping schedule protects your chocolate from heat exposure during longer weekend transit times.
Expect fulfillment delays during extreme heat events. If we need to delay your shipment, we will contact you to provide updates on your package’s expected ship date.
What if I need my order to arrive faster?
If you have an urgent order, select an expedited shipping option at check out. Please leave an order note letting us know when you need your order to arrive.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is variable by state. Enter your shipping address at checkout to verify the shipping rate. Generally:
- Western US: $15
- Eastern US: $10
- Georgia (in-state): $5

Will my chocolate melt?
Not if we can help it! Chocolate is more than our job; it's our craft. We pour everything we've got into making the highest-quality chocolate possible. And when we ship your order, we pack it to protect the craft.
Our team pays close attention to the weather around the US. Any chocolate transiting through temperatures above 70 F gets packed with insulation and cold packs as needed. We use 1-inch thick insulation is designed for 72-hour heat protection. We cap shipping times at 48-hours during hot months, just to be safe.
We strongly encourage you to check your tracking information, so that you know when to expect your package. When your chocolate arrives, please bring it inside as soon as possible. Even packed securely with insulation and cold packs, chocolate may melt if left outside.
We offer a melt-free guarantee. If your order arrives melted, reply to your order email with pictures of the package and products. We'll ship you a replacement for any melted chocolate.
What shipping materials do you use?
Sustainability is core to our mission. We reduce our use of plastic every chance we get.
We use 100% paper insulation. It's re-usable and completely curbside recyclable.
Our cold packs are poly-coated paper pouches with biodegradable gel. These are designed for re-use, so feel free to keep using them for your own cooling needs. When they're ready for disposal, cut open the pouch, compost the gel, and throw away the pouch.
Sometimes we use bubble wrap or other plastic fill to cushion our packages. This is always re-used material that we have received in shipments to our factory. We prefer to give these materials second life rather than tossing them out. We never purchase new bubble wrap, air pillows, or foam.
How do you ship carbon neutral?
We're proud to purchase carbon offsets for every online order that we ship out. These offsets come at no additional expense to our customers--we foot the bill. Purchasing these carbon offsets is just one of the ways we work to fulfill our third mission to "Positively impact livelihoods, health, and sustainability through focused growth." Our carbon offsets go to a program that protects old-growth forest and seeks to increase biodiversity in the communities of Acapa and Bajo Mira y Frontera in south-western Colombia. This program is managed by local, indigenous Afro-Colombian communities who are best able to provide appropriate and committed stewardship. You can read more about the program here.
